Behind the painted smile LIES a harrowed ex leader. I’m sure this doesn’t fit in with spinster Tony Blair Labour Pr machine. This image looks more like the face he pulls when the news comes on at night with more cataclysmic colonial ideology. The harsh light of the studio on the fore head gives it a feel of inquisition. Photographer David Levine of The Guardian has to be questioned as to whether he has betrayed the sitting model. I’m sure if this was anybody else it would be lost on the cutting room floor?
